Fire One
December 20th, 2007 Posted in InventionConsider this scene from back in the old cave dwelling days. A storm, lightning shears off a tree limb and sets it on fire. A woman approaches and sensing in an ah-ha moment the distinction between the cold and hot ends of the limb she picks it up and runs back to her cave and enters. “See,” she says to the others, shaking the burning torch. “Are you crazy?” the others shout, those who are not climbing up the wall in fright, “Get that thing out of here!”
